Edelweiss has supplied and installed curved doors, curved glass and windows to 38db(a) for the prestigious new Sheraton Hotel in Pretoria.

These were used to compensate for the noise of a busy location and the products were tested and approved by accoustic engineers on the project.

Edelweiss also supplied the curved glass curtain walls for the hotel as well as the bullet proof glass for some of the windows.

Between 300 and 400 windows were supplied for the Sheraton Hotel, some of which are 2,8m high.

The technology required for these applications was supplied by Technal of France, with Edelweiss as the South African licensee for the French Company.

The project has brought a lot of technology transfer to South Africa, particularly in the use of reed switches, the level of sound reduction and the use of bullet proof glass, curved windows and doors.
